The competition is promoted by the municipality of Vila Verde, the municipal company Provive and Parish Council of Loureira, leaving the operationalization of proof borne by the ACRD Loureira TrialPortugal.Net and under the aegis of the Portuguese Federation of Cycling and the International Cycling Union . This event is part of the project Active Holidays in Vila Verde, joining the strategy for implementing the Municipal Program of Tourism Development, which aims to make Village Green a tourist destination of excellence.

The race will consist of five areas of obstacles, for which the athletes will have to pass three times, totaling 15 moments of competition for each athlete. It should be noted that the athletes have to perform these 3h30min 15 2m30seg zones and to perform each of the zones. These will be located near each other, so you can at the audience, viewing all evidence from a single point.

The test will be played in categories Elite, Senior, Open and open a second. The vilaverdense Daniel Sousa is the current title holder, in the Elite category since it won the Cup of Portugal in 2009. This year, everything is still open, so expect a very intense final. Daniel Sousa is in second place behind the Spaniard Ivan Izquierdo, so you have to win to renew the title in 2009. John Sousa, is also fighting for the highest place, winning the penultimate race held in Loule and thus renewed hopes for winning the final victory.

In the Senior category, the athlete barcelense Jorge Fonseca leads with quiet, just him a 5th place to secure the league title. The consecration Open two hardly escapes the Spanish athlete Dario Muñoz, who already has two victories in three races held so far.

In the Open category 1, corresponding to the little ones, there is also great emphasis on the athletes vilaverdenses. Victor Ugly is the clear leader in this class, so it will not let him escape the title in Vila Verde.

Also noteworthy was the performance on July 17, Saturday, by 22h, in the Plaza de Santo António Vila green, a Trial Bike Exhibition, where the public could see a small sample of what will take place on Sunday.

The Trial Bike is a discipline of cycling that the main factor is the balance and control of the bike in extreme situations. The aim of the competition is going on with the bike for a tough course with obstacles and signposted, located within the "controlled areas", without being able to touch the ground with any part of the body and the bike (except the tires), and within a set time.

The Trial Bike National Championships will be held on September 19 in Guimaraes.
